Student Achievement: Melbourne Theatre Company Youth Ambassador Program

Congratulations to Mia C (Year 11), who has been offered a place in the 2026 Youth Ambassadors Program with the Melbourne Theatre Company – an enrichment opportunity for Year 11 theatre enthusiasts across Victoria.

Through this program, Mia will attend a range of productions at Southbank Theatre and Arts Centre Melbourne, while engaging in discussions and exclusive Q&A sessions with industry professionals. She will also take on a leadership role, acting as both a youth representative within the Company and an advocate for the arts within ³ûÖÊÓƵ and the wider community.

We are delighted that Mia has been given this wonderful opportunity and wish her every success as she takes part in the program.

Celebrating Musical Excellence in Piano Performance

The ³ûÖÊÓƵ Music Co‑curricular Department is delighted to congratulate Miranda N from Year 8 and her piano teacher, Ms Paulina Vayenas, on Miranda’s outstanding achievement of a Pass with Honours in her AMEB Grade 7 Piano Repertoire Examination.

This examination was completed as a video exam, recorded onsite at ³ûÖÊÓƵ in our Auditorium, before being forwarded to the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) for external assessment. Some students find this format to be a more comfortable and convenient option, however it still requires exceptional preparation, focus and performance confidence!

Miranda presented a demanding and stylistically diverse program, demonstrating technical mastery and musical maturity across several musical periods. Her performance repertoire included:

  • List A: Sinfonia 15 – J.S. Bach
  • List B: Allegro moderato – Franz Schubert
  • List C: Où l’on entend une vieille boîte – Déodat de Séverac
  • Extra pieces: Sonata – Domenico Cimarosa, and °ä²¹²Ô³¦¾±Ã³²Ô – Manuel de Falla

We also congratulate Miranda on her strong dedication to regular and focused practice, which was instrumental in achieving this excellent result. Her commitment and perseverance are a wonderful example of what can be achieved through consistent effort and a genuine love of music.

We proudly acknowledge the guidance and expertise of Ms Paulina Vayenas, whose ongoing support and high expectations continue to inspire excellence in our piano students.

If any other students are interested in learning an instrument or undertaking an AMEB examination, families are encouraged to contact the Music Department or speak with a private tutor to discuss current opportunities and pathways available at ³ûÖÊÓƵ.
